Many people are very quick to condemn a prophet for requesting an offering or payment on behalf of the prophetic word, yet the practice of paying a prophet (or bringing a financial gift to a prophet when seeking his guidance) is completely Biblical in nature, and appropriate in it's context.

First, let's clear up that the Word of God is free! Anyone can read the Word at any time, and no one should charge for exhibiting righteousness towards one another, towards encouraging one another, or towards sharing their heart/ministering two one another. There is a difference, however, between this and someone operating in the vocation and/or an office of the ministry. Any person operating in a ministry office / vocation, should still abide in the same principles of righteousness and love as anyone else, but it must also be understood that it is EXPECTED for the pastor, evangelist, etc., to go and live above and beyond that of everyone else because of his/her calling/vocation.

A pastor is expected to visit the sick at any time of day or night, go minister to shut in at any time of day or night, be there available to counsel during the week, run the church administratively, be constantly studying the word and constantly in prayer to be able to deliver the life changing messages to the congregation... day in and day out. This cannot be done, with the expected availability, without income coming from somewhere, and if the pastor has to spend all of his day at some secular job because the church is not supporting him, he just doesn't have the time and availability that is expected.

Now, just as there are very high demands expected for the pastor, there are just as many expected for the prophet. The prophet, in fact, is expected to spend more time in prayer than the pastor as he is the voice of correction and exhortation to the pastors, evangelists, etc., in addition to the individuals that also seek him. The prophet is expected to be able to give PERSONALIZED divine revelation (thus saith the Lord) for anyone's individual need at any time (instead of preaching an all encompassing message to the entire congregation), which requires extended study, meditation, etc.

In other words, in order for a prophet to be as effective as possible, it takes full time work in spiritual study, prayer, and practice, which is greatly limited when also having to work a full time secular job which not only limits the spiritual growth and maintenance time available, but also contributes to tarnishing the purity of spirit that is required to be most effective as a prophet.

But what about the paying part? Where is the Biblical example?

Throughout the Bible, you will see that it was completely customary for kings, leaders, royalty, to approach the prophets with silver and gold. In 2 Kings 5, Naaman came to Elisha with money to request his services. In 2 Kings 4, the woman gave him a place to rest and gave to him her last pot of oil. As a result they were greatly...

In Matthew 10:41, it states that if you receive a prophet because he is a prophet, you will receive a prophet's reward. (For example: Naaman had heard that there was a prophet in the land - Elisha - and because he accepted/received that Elisha was as prophet, he approached him in the proper protocol of bringing an offering) It is also important to understand what the prophet's reward is...

The prophet's reward is the gift of prophecy to the person seeking the prophet! Naaman's reward was the instruction to be healed, which was much more valuable than any price he could have paid. And think about how much more he would've been paying doctors to treat him without ever producing a TRUE healing. It would've been a whole lot more than the gift he "offered" the prophet... and then Elisha rejected the gift. The woman who blessed him with her last oil received an unlimited supply of new oil and the life of her son restored, two blessings that also are enormous in comparison to that small gift they paid. And likewise, any gift you bring to the prophet for a prophetic word, though it may seem like a sacrifice, pales in comparison to the result of a prophetic word!

The prophetic word can change your life for the better! It can lead you to the very thing for the new job that the $50,000 in college didn't result in. It can lead you to the healing knowledge that will prevent a $100,000 surgery in the next year! It can reveal your life purpose/career to you that will take care of you for the rest of your life! It can prevent you from entering into a new agreement that would have left you impoverished! The value of the prophetic Word, though it may not just put money in your pocket instantly, will save you exponential times the amount you gave, or open you up to gain exponential value if you take heed to the instruction.

Final thought: "Christians" and others, are willing to invest tens of thousands of dollars in secular education often without the promised return on investment, willing to spend thousands of dollars on business opportunties, stocks, lottery, etc., with no promise of guarantee of results. Likewise, they are willing to spend hundreds of dollars secretly going to "psychics", going to secular counselors, and buying secular products, that either result in no major improvement, require continued maintenance, etc. Yet... so much money, time, and effort can be saved with ONE WORD from GOD through His PROPHETS, which can completely change everything. This simply demonstrates more faith in man, which has proven to fall short, than in God, who has never failed... and God is not pleased with this. In this season, learn to trust the prophets and to bless the prophets. Coming to the prophet with a GIFT in hand, is the PROTOCOL of God, throughout the Bible, and carries the promise of God of reward. He even supplies (multiplies) more seed to the sower (2 Corinthians 9:10), meaning that if you do sow, give money, into the work of God, God will keep increasing your money so that you keep giving more to His work, and the work of the prophet is His work.

Considering all of this, and the title of the post, you pay a prophet to two primary reasons... 1) It is the protocol of God established thoughout the Bible. 2) It is for YOUR benefit.

Bless you,

Prophet Kelvin N. Considering this, our hearts are tied to where we spend our treasure (money). For example, people spend money on the music they love, the entertainment they enjoy, gifts for the people they love, material that supports the political or religious philosophies they love, etc. So, the first part of the principle is to know where your heart is at.

The second part of the principle is based on the scripture, Proverbs 4:23, that states:
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." In other words, all of the issues in your life are based on what was in your heart. If your heart is tied to your money, which you've used to spend on corrupt things, then now your heart will be causing corrupt issues to flow into your life. Where you have been spending your money has resulted in where you are in life. Likewise, where you CHOOSE to spend your money now is representive of the condition of your heart, and therefore will determine what will CONTINUE to flow into your life in the FUTURE.

Recap: Check your heart by checking your wallet, for out of this flows the issues in your life!

Bless you,

Prophet Kelvin N. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Luke 11:36 (New International Version) - Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

Every day that we walk in the presence of others, we have an opportunity to make a difference, and possibly "shed light" upon their understanding of the faith which we are committed. Yet, too often we don't take full advantage of these opportunities. When it comes to our faith, we MUST let it shine, for this is the only way that it shall be seen, known, and understood, and we usually fall into one of three categories: torches, lamps, and flashlights.

Flashlights
A person with flashlight faith is one who is strong and powerful, but only in a very limited scope. This is often the person that you see at church who is praising his/her heart out and the very next hour is at the store cursing someone out. This person is considered the hypocrite, because in the area that he or she is strong in, he/she will even bliind (attack) others for not having that same standard IN THAT AREA, forgetting about his/her own weaknesses in SO MANY other areas. Even worse, this person can easily be turned off even in the area of strength.

Lamp
A person with lamp faith is one who wants to fit in with everyone, while still being seen as a good, or spiritual, person. They try to let their light shine, but keep it a little bit muffled; they want to be seen as "good," but not to the point of being "holy-rollers" or "holier-than-thou." Because of this, they will often relax their standard, or go against their consciences, just a little bit... just enough to keep from offending those around them. They want to be bright enough to be able to claim to have the best moralilty out of the group, but not so much that they no longer fit in. There are varying shades of these types.

Torch
The person with torch faith is the one who, frankly, just doesn't care what anyone thinks. This person is "SOLD OUT" for the Lord and doesn't care what anyone says or thinks about it. This person doesn't have to worry about toning down his/her light because if anyone tries to put a shade over it, the shade will be destroyed by the heat. When you hear the phrase, "on fire for God," you are witnessing someone with torch faith. This is also the ultimate level that the Word teaches us we need to be at to be worth of Christ, that we should be willing to lose our life (what we know, love, and identify with) for the sake of God's will.

Though faith levels vary among people, we must always remember that we are all given a measure of faith. Because of this, we all have the foundation to grow into what God desires. We must remind ourselves of not only the promises, but also the costs and requirement of those promises. If we are ashamed of Christ before man, He shall be ashamed of us before the Father, so with that understanding, let us let our light shine that much more! Be not afraid of rejection by man, be afraid of the eternal rejection, and let our faith shine that much more. So ask yourself, "Am I a flashlight, lamp, or a torch?" If you haven't reached the latter, keep praising, reading, learning, and growing, for this is the standard God desires. Bless you. Verses 7 and 8 read as follows:

7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

So very often, the emphasis given when this is taught is that God will give to you if you just come to Him, yet I'm delivering this teaching to show you a deeper revelation in these scriptures. Have you ever noticed the order of the directions: ask, then seek, then knock. There is actually a spiritual significance to it.

Just before this scripture it talks about not giving your pearls to pigs for they'd just trample over it then turn on you, so I pray that there are no pigs (ignorant, insatiable, obnoxious, scavenger-minded, greedy fools) that are receiving these pearls, that they may not go to waste. Likewise, this is important to know, as it sets the tone that what is about to be taught is related to the wisdom of the word of God. Let's break it down then.

Ask and it will be given to you. This first part is referencing the beginning stages of your faith. We are referred to as babes in Christ when we first get saved, and our Father, God/YHWH, treats us that way. When we are new Christians, He will answer our prayers quickly and feed us with His wisdom and His blessings at a mere asking, sometimes without us even having to ask. Yet, as any good parent, He cannot just keep spoiling us as we start maturing. It begins to become time for us to grow up and start doing something for ourselves.

Seek and you will find. Just as when kids get older, they are required to obtain more responsibility by figuring out things on their own. Just the same, God expects us to progress to a point where He doesn't have to keep spoon feeding us, but where we shall search out the scriptures ourselves through constant study, sowing, praying (seeking Him) to start finding our own answers on how to live in faith.

Knock and the door will be opened. God finally expects us to become mature enough Christians that we have learned the Word good enough (from all the reading, studying, praying, fasting, fellowship, etc.) that the actions of our faith become automatic. At that point, we already know what to do to receive the breakthrough. We understand the principles of showing that we shall reap, of forgiving that we shall be forgiven, of loving our enemies, of compassion, etc., therefore we know longer have to spend so much time searching and simple knock (take the action necessary) and then the door will be opened. It is also important with that to note that when a door is opened to you, you now have the free reign to enjoy as you please whereas before the stuff you were seeking was measured to you. At this stage, it's in your hands to be disciplined and sensible enough to measure just how much you need, so though the doors to your blessing have been opened, the responsibility required has also increased.

Thus, this is the hidden message to that scripture. As you finish reading this, please take a moment to review the lesson, meditate on it, and digest it, that you may begin applying it to your life. Consider the pearls, that you may not trample on them as would the swine, but use them to grow to that place of maturity in Christ that God so wants of us. Therefore, now, be led by the spirit and act accordingly to this Word, even now, in the name of Jesus Christ, here and evermore. Bless you. Amen.

But, You Are Not The Same

Many times, Christians find themselves comparing themselves to friends, family members, co-workers, etc., but for the wrong justification. Note that when I say Christians, I'm not referring to everyone who says that they are Christians, but rather the ones that regularly, sincerely seek out to do the will of God. That is the first thing to understand about Christianity: It's not that you are perfect and name no mistakes, but that you are forgiven by God's grace through Christ and have committed your life for living for Him because of it. And if you are truly committed, then it is evidenced by what you strive for, rather than just what you say or justify. In fact, one who is committed will not justify sins, but actually repent for them (no matter how many times he/she falls).

Now that we've cleared that up, let's discuss the wrongful comparison. If you are committed and sincere about your walk, then you are not the same as someone who is purposefully seeking temptation, sin, etc., and always justifying it. You are not the same!

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

With this, we are to understand that we should not be yoked with unbelievers (or rather, unequally yoked). So in other words, those who are not going in the same direction (I didn't say at the same level, but rather going in the same direction) spiritually, socially, etc., towards God should be let go, because anything that takes you away from God's will/plan is to be cut off.

And yes, you don't want to seem all self-righteous, especially in a world where so many pompous idiots have so falsely represented themselves as Godly. But, you also don't want to sell yourself as less than God's will for you to be, because if you are not seeing yourself, or representing yourself, as God would have you to be seen, you are in disobedience! Many times we don't want to declare our righteousness, or say something is wrong even though it actually is, because we are afraid that we'll be judging someone and that the response will be "don't judge."

Well, there's a difference between judging (as in being a hypocrit, which is the negative connotation of it), and judging what is right or wrong based on and speaking the Word of God. See we have to see the rest of that scripture which states that you will then be judged by the measure that you judge another. This is very important because it clarifies that there is only a problem with calling out sin, when you are committing that sin, which is what makes you a hypocrite. If when you are speaking truth based on the word, even applying it to yourself, there is no hypocrisy. Yet, if you are ashamed of the Word because of others, Jesus will be ashamed of you!

So what's the overall point? The overall point is that if you are sincere as the saint that God has called you to be, it's time to stop comparing yourself to others that are insincere as though they are the same as you. It is time to stop justifying their deliberate sins in comparison to you, just because you are so concerned about hurting their feelings, no matter how "close" they are to you for Jesus said if you are not willing to "hate" your brother, mother, etc., (as in, being willing to separate from them) for His sake, you are not worthy Him. These are not my words, but the Lord! It is time to stop telling those that you care about that the sin they deliberately do is okay because they might get offended and you're afraid that they will throw your past in your face. For God has called you to be separate, a holy nation, and righteous in His ways, and what you associate yourself with (as far as who you identify yourself with by saying you are the same) is also how God is going to associate you. Please body of Christ, learn to identify yourself as sons and daughters of God, by sincerely, SINCERELY seeking His ways.

Bless you!

Prophetic Word - Patience or Patients - 5/5/10

The Lord gave me a Word to share family. Many are out there thinking you just can't catch a break, and that the trials keep coming one after the other with no relief. You have God in your life and are trying to have faith but it feels like you have no power over being a constant patient, constantly under attack, constantly hurting.

God wants you to know that "You don't have to be a patient anymore! Just have patience."

"No, not patience, in waiting on me," says the Spirit of the Lord. "I want you to gain the trait of patience. I have great things for you in your path, but you are not ready to handle them because you have no patience. You are not ready."

See, Romans 5:3 says "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;"

God says, "I want you to know that I am only allowing the tribulations until you can develop patience that you need for the next level that I am taking you to. If you but learn to develop the patience you need, I will stop the tribulations from occurring," saith the Lord. "If you begin to deal with your situations in a patient manner, you will be ready to take on the greater challenges of patience at the next level of blessing, but right now you are not ready, and have not the patience to deal with the challenges at that higher level of expansion."

"As long as you are too quick, quick-tempered, quick to anger, quick to give up, quick to slack off, you will never have what it takes to reach your planned level of blessing, for it taketh patience to gain it. I shall take you there when you are ready!" thus saith the Lord!

See Saints, Proverbs 19:11 tells us that "A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense." It is going to take us wisdom, which is received from the Lord who gives it bountifully to those who ask for it, gained within the Word of God and understanding, and revelation thereof as given by the Spirit of God, to be patient. When you have the wisdom of why, how, and understand the significance of the things that occur in your life, patience for those things - because of the understanding - becomes automatic. And even in the times when you don't fully understand it, as you can begin to grow your faith by feeding your Spirit with the bread of life, the Word of God, the faith in that God is with you despite it all, gives you the patience to endure.

Therefore brethren, please take heed to this Word. I pray that you shall receive that you may learn how to become a person of patience, rather than just an injured patient, overcoming the tribulation pattern that is affecting your life.

If you need any guidance, or have any questions, contact us at church@ugfe.org.

Bless you,

Rev. Snake

The "Eagle vs Snake" may be similar to a kung-fu match up of styles, and has probably been featured on a few old movies, but it is also a principle of Biblical truth. Have you noticed the similarities of those in God being compared to eagles, whereas the evil one is compared to a snake in the Word?

This is because as followers of YHWH, we are to be like eagles, drawing closer and closer to the father Heaven, rising above the matters of the earth and only swooping down for the basic necessities, such as food. In fact, something that is also ironic is that eagles can feed off of snakes. This makes me think of the scripture that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous because when we are in an elevated state, we can always see the true benefits below us and go down to obtain it when needed without getting involved.

The only time the eagle comes in danger of the snake is when it starts to spend too much time on the ground, getting too involved in the earthly matters. It is then, when it's not at it's position of strength (in the air) that a snake could sneak up behind it and attack it.

Coincidentally, eagles are normally too smart to give up their position of strength to dwell on the ground, but how then is it that we humans, who are supposed to be superior in terms of intellect, keep staying on the ground in our areas of weakness instead of staying above it in our place of strength? May we learn a lesson from the eagle, and keep soaring above the earthly matters, lest we too become victims of the snake instead of the other way around.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ugfe.blogspot.com/2009/12/eagle-vs-snake.html' title='Eagle Vs. What was not considered, though, was that we were having a work-related, catered “Thanksgiving food” department lunch that I had completely forgotten about, and this was day one of my fast. I had been up since about 6:00am with no food of course, but this was completely unexpected.

I had thoughts like: “I don’t want to skip out on the big meeting,” “I don’t want to be the weird guy at the table who, though his stomach is growling, is not eating while everyone around me is chomping down on a laid out Thanksgiving menu,” and “I don’t want to try to make a plate and save it until after 7:00pm, as this would look a little weird and also cause uncomfortable temptation all day long.” Needless to say, I said “I’m sorry” to God, asked Him to “please forgive me,” and partook of the fixings.

How familiar does that, giving in to the temptation caused by your surroundings and asking for forgiveness, sound to everyday life as Christian in a secular world? Reflecting on the fasting example, I found some very important and interesting points that I’d like to share with you for consideration.

One of the biggest concerns with not eating was how I’d appear to the other people in the room. Jesus said that if you are ashamed of me (ashamed to follow what you are doing for Him), He will be ashamed of you before the Father (Luke 9:26). Yet in this example, how people would look at me was the greater concern. As Christians, we should always be more concerned with doing God’s will than with how others will look at us for doing it. Sometimes God will advise us to do some unconventional things. In the Bible (Mark 10:21), people were told to sell EVERYTHING they had and give it to the poor. That would sound ridiculous to many of us today, but if that is what God instructed, it would be better to obey it than to worry about how we’d look to people.

I wouldn’t have had to worry about how I’d appear as much if I weren’t so submerged in the environment that is going in a different flow than what God was leading me to do. Obviously sharing lunch together is not a bad or evil thing, but if God is saying to you to fast, it’s best to avoid that environment that would tempt you to do otherwise. The Bible teaches that you should flee sin and avoid even the appearance of it (1 Thessalonians 5:22), and while the particular thing may not be sin in and of itself (as in though it is typically a good thing, God told you to avoid it today), disobedience is. We are supposed to be in the world but not of it (John 17:15-16), meaning, though we are around things, we don’t follow the crowd in the stuff that is contradictory to what God has instructed us to do in His word and through His revelations to us.

Looking at these points, we must recognize and understand that we are constantly surrounded by influences, situations, and people that are doing things counter to what God is telling us to do. These are things that you see others enjoying tremendously, making you want to partake so you can have the same pleasurable enjoyment as well, but knowing deep down that it is not what God wants you to be doing. Then you have to face the pivotal point of what you will actually do.

The good thing is that most of the time you will not be in an unavoidable situation and can simply just not go to that place or around that person where you find weakness, though some times you may. But, when you do find yourself in one of those unavoidable situations that is tempting you to do something counter to God’s instruction to you, you have to make a choice: give in or follow God. It’s easy to say, but not always easy to do. In fact, it is often very difficult, and the more submerged you are within the environment the harder it will be to fight. You can still escape or overcome it through the power of Jesus for even He was tempted in the same way with food after 40 days of fasting, but man doesn’t live by bread alone, but by everything that proceeds from the mouth of God, remaining faithful and trusting in that we shall not be tempted beyond what we can handle (1 Corinthians 10:13). May we as Christians, then, learn the lesson from breaking a fast, and avoid the temptations in our lives, and also keep each other lifted up in prayer and support.

Bless You!

What Type of Leap Will You Take?

Time and time again, you hear people talking about taking a "leap of faith" towards a new step or venture in their life. This "leap" is usually based on particular goals or significant events that will cause a major change in a person's life and involves overcoming some great fear of failure. Sometimes though, the "leap" can be as simply as stepping out to trust God enough to sow a large offering into His work, to support a ministry, to feed a homeless person, or to lend supplies to someone in need.

The "funny" thing about it though, is that during these times, we so often let the fear of the result hinder us in what God would have us do so that He can release greater blessings into our lives. We read the Word telling us the prinicples of sowing and reaping. We read the scriptures discussing how if we give, it will be given unto us, pressed down, shaken together, and running over! We even declare in faith during church that we're blessed and highly favored! But yet, at the opportunity to sow into a place where we know God's presence is, that we know is doing great things for the Kingdom, we become afraid that if we give, there will be a negative consequence in the future.

That is where it is "funny," not as in comedic but as in peculiar. When we were in sin, or for a person that commits a sin, there is always a risk or consequence to come. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that no one commits a sin completely not knowing that it is a sin. But yet, we as people are willing to take a "leap of faith" towards the sinful activity, willing to brush off the fear or consideration of the potential negative consequence that WILL OCCUR in the future, just for that moment of sinful satisfaction. We as people will take that risk to participate in things that are against God's will, that have a potentially terrible consequence, with no worry about what and when it will happen.

If only, we were willing to use the same level of faith towards the things that God is trying to use the bless us. Imagine how much our lives could change when investing in that which has a guaranteed return! Imagine if we would put aside such fears and trust God that He will honor His Word and rebuke the devour for our name's sake and that He will supply seed to the sower for our name's sake. Taking the leap of faith and giving is not for the benefit of the ministry or person we are sowing into, but that fruit may abound in our account! Just as in scripture, where God said choose this day who you will serve; choose also what types of leaps you will take... ones that lead to life more abundantly, or ones that lead to death?

Bless You.

P.S. I haven't worn any in years because all in all, my eyes aren't bad. I'm just a little nearsighted in my left eye. But nevertheless, I got new glasses to correct the nearsightedness. Considering this, God also showed me how too often we are nearsighted in our walk with Him.

Too often, we judge things based only upon what we can see with our natural eyes, so our vision (as in write the vision, make it plain) is severely limited due to being either too nearsighted or farsighted.

Nearsighted Vision - This is when you limit the power of God to your lower level of expectation. You can only see your potential as so much, and are afraid to even consider doing greater than those things that you feel you could possibly accomplish considering your current place and resources.

Farsighted Vision - This is where all you can see is the huge end result. All you can see is the big wealthy place, but cannot understand how you will get there. Though you see the gigantic vision, the closer steps are clouded.

In either of these situations, some aspect of your vision is too unclear to make the vision come to pass, and this is where you put on the glasses of God. God says "I am your glasses! I am your clarity! I am the missing link to your vision! See through my eyes, my Words, and acknowledge me and I shall direct the path!"

God is the glasses that bring the rest of the picture into focus. If you put on the glasses that He prescribed by reading and listening to His Word, praying and consulting Him before each and every move, and listening to His PROPHETS of whom He has given the vision to for your directing, then shall your path to your vision be established! So write the vision, make it plain, and make sure that it is seen clearly through the lenses that He has provided you!

Bless in in the name of the Lord!

P.S. This scripture refers to Jesus being like a great fisherman and teaching us to do the same so that we can draw mankind to salvation.

I would like to submit to you though, the idea that Jesus may not be the only fisherman out there. In fact, while Jesus wants to catch you to set you free into a better place than this dirty old lake that we call the world, there is another that wishes to catch you so that he can kill you and fry you for dinner. This evil competing fisherman is often known as Satan.

I received this message from the Lord as I was walking singing along to some song that I had heard on the radio, that really doesn't even interest me. The problem though, is that the song was so "catchy" that despite its negative undertones, it easily hooked me and became a part of my consciousness without me even being aware.

Isn't that how it works though? You see, in fishing, the fisherman will often use the bright, shiny, flashy lures to catch his fish. He has lures that can appear to be swimming on their own as though they were living fish themselves, but yet by the time you discover that they are artificial, it's too late and now you are in danger struggling for your life.

This is the same tactic that the enemy uses on us. The artificial, temporal things of this world are all shiny and flashy to get our attention and draw us in. They appear to be the real thing providing real nourishment (solutions), but turn out to be disappointing and worthless at fulfilling us, just empty attempts for the real solution which is Christ. And the enemy places these things right in our faces, so that they are real catchy and easy to access just like the fisherman does to the fish, but just as the fish do get caught on them and end up facing a terrible doom, so do we if we cannot get away.

That's why we must turn to Jesus. He shall provide a real fulfillment, not some flashy, fake stuff. His bait is all natural, empowering, and sustaining. It is found in the deeper parts of the lake where we have to really seek out the good things. And when we take a hold of it, He gently rescues us and sets us in the right place. "Stay away from the shallow waters," says the God of Hosts. "I only fish in the deep seas." If want God, dig deep into His word and there you'll find salvation. There you'll find fulfillment! There, rather than getting caught in a snare, you'll be caught with loving arms that will never let you go!

Remember: Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So, what are you hooked on?

Welcome

I want to take a moment to personally welcome you to the official UGFE Ministries blog. Instead of adding written messages, prophecies, etc., on our website's "The Word" page as before, we'll dedicate that page to our video and audio messages (along with archives), and now begin using this more interactive platform for written messages. So, check our blog out regulary, leave comments and questions, and let us grow in the faith of God (YHWH), together!

Bless you,

Rev. This is not the most accurate. When the covenant changed from the old to the new in the scripture, it was not to get rid of the old values or principles, but rather to build upon those principles to make living up to that standard more attainable since it had been proven that man's ability to do it alone was not significant enough. In other words, we were too weak in ourselves to live up to God's standard on our own. Therefore, He sent is son, Yeshua (Jesus) as a sacrifice for us so that we could be appoved of the standard through Him.

What this means in terms of practical living from the Bible is that, though we are not under the curse of the Law, it is still God's standard and we should still strive for the same level of holiness that He expects. He is willing to forgive us for our shortcomings if we confess and repent, but our desire should still be towards His holiness. If something was an abomination to God back then, it is still an abomination to Him now, but he now is willing to forgive us for it if we strive to overcome it through the faith in His son. If something was pleasing to God back then, it is still pleasing to Him now, and we should seek to do that which is pleasing to Him even if we fall short of it in our attempt.
